Countdown to Fall Practice: Running Backs

We keep it on the ground with our countdown series before the first practice, with a look at each position as it relates to our team. Today, we take a look at the explosive guys coming out of the backfield, the Running Backs. This includes the Running Backs and Fullbacks.  These guys are very talented and this may be a tremendous battle in the coming month for carries.  Again, I hand off the analysis to DJ.

Redshirt Sophmore Rosevelt Watson - He performed well during the spring, he's physically the most developed back and has a year of college experience under his belt. Not to mention that [he] and Jackson should be a great tandem because they were one of the best QB/RB duos in Florida during their time at Lake Worth High school.

Redshirt Freshman Travis Evans - This kid is the future and is actually the best RB we have, but he still needs needs to add a little bulk but I would not be surprised if he takes over the No. 1 spot at RB by the end of the season or gets as many carries as Watson.

Freshman Cole Moon - If he doesn't redshirt, this kid will get a lot of carries in the red zone and during goal line situations.

Redshirt Freshman Sam Burkhalter - Still has sleeping issues and I don't know how much longer this can go on. I hope he can get it under control, but for now, he's No. 4 in my book.

Redshirt Sophmore Malcolm Smith - this guy should not be a walk-on. I saw him break out multiple 30+ yard runs during the first spring practice. He might move up the depth chart by the end of the year.

Tomorrow: The Quarterbacks
