Panthers Beat Lamar 23-17, Clinch Winning Season

Best: Win the win vs. the Cardinals, Georgia State clinches a winning season in it's first season of existence.  This is an incredible feat and a credit to Coach Curry, his staff and the football training staff for keeping these guys healthy and ready to go for 10 straight weeks.

Good: We answered the bell.  After grabbing a 13-3 lead, the Panthers absorbed a 14 point barrage capt off by a pick 6 on a good read by the Lamar CB.  As John Bond said in the post game interviews, Drew put it exactly where the coaching staff told him too.  No blame there.  Drew responded by absolutely making play after play and the game of football smiled on us a little with the tipped pass into Arthur Williams' hands.

Disappointment of the day: Tough way to send the 5 seniors off.  I was mildy disappointed in the crowd support.  Georgia Tech played on Thursday (and we actually had a few Tech football players in attendance as guests of Gilbert and Yandell) and Georgia was playing an opponent that both Lamar and Georgia State would likely beat.  I actually brought 3 people who had never been to a football game before and I'd encourage you to do the same next season.

Next up: The Panthers will not get back together until Wednesday and have this upcoming Saturday off before heading to Tuscaloosa on Wednesday, November 17th for our contest on Thursday night.  Sleep well Panther Nation!
