Not the way you want to ride the momentum wave from the football team. Take a breath everyone. Eight newcomers and Barnes played 12 players tonight and exhibition games are used to work on rotations and see what players need to be played.
Good: Eric Buckner scored 7 points and grabbed 12 boards. That's an impressive debut.
Bad: Team Captains Marques Johnson and Jihad Ali did not shoot the ball well and combined for 18 points on 24 shots.
Ugly: James Fields got the nod to start and was awful. No way to sugar coat 0-6 on his FG attempts and 6 turnovers. There is a reason why he's a bench player and defensive specialist.
Next Game: Panthers travel to McNeese State next Tuesday. Gametime is 8pm.
The bad is only half right. Marcus hit 5 of 10 for 10 points. Fields and Ali combined for something like 4 of 24. Fields tried to dribble inside and score but CAU's defense was too good part of the time and he just plain missed the others. Ali? Most players do have off nights.
