Friday Quick Hitters - 9.17.10

Happy Day Before Gameday Blog Nation!

Just a quick plug, visit the PantherTalk.com tailgate in the Orange Lot.  We will be selling t-shirts in the coming months and all proceeds go to make the site (and then this blog) as great as it can be.  We'd like to set some money aside as well to be able to donate back to athletics as well.

Stepping on my soapbox, if you are not a donor to athletics, I urge you to. If you'd like to see us accomplish great things in our athletic program, your gifts make great impact.  Those who are vocal (positive or negative) can do little good with their voices.  They are given new voices when you donate.

Let's Hit the Links (kind of light today, working on my preview and prediction that will be up tonight):

-Video from UrbanNews.com that was at our first game:  Great pub and visit the site.  Video Link

-AJC's Tony Barnhart is one of my favorite writers.  He thinks we lose tomorrow and guess what? He's not alone in that.  I've not seen a single site (not run by us) that thinks we are going to win.

10. Jacksonville [State] at Georgia State: Jacksonville State is 2-0 after a huge upset at Ole Miss (49-48 OT) on Sept. 4 and then a 21-17 win over Chattanooga. Jack Crowe’s Gamecocks simply have too many athletes for Georgia State.  But if Bill Curry’s Panthers are going to  play in the CAA down the road, this is the level of competition they must eventually match. It just won’t happen on Saturday. Jacksonville State 42, Georgia State 20.  AJC Link

-Jacksonville is taking a little bit different of a role as the favorite: Interesting peice from the Gadsden (AL) Times.  Gadsden Times Link
