A recent 2011 preview by Baseball America predicts Georgia State to capture the CAA title in this coming 2011 season. I know, starting to sound like a broken record at this point. James Madison and VCU are the predicted 2nd and 3rd place finishers.
Are you ready for another shocker? Mark Micowski was picked to be the CAA player of the year by Baseball America (BA). BA is a trusted MLB prospect evaluation source and has placed Micowski in the top 5 for talent able to play at the MLB level.
I hope GSU fans realize the special talent we have right now. There is a real chance Micowski has an opportunity to have a shot at "the Bigs". At 6'2" 190 lbs he's in the ballpark and especially so if he was able to bulk up another 5-10. I would be willing to bet that he's on the radar right now and I'm going to do more digging into this as the season gets underway.
Ok Panther fans, I cannot give you anymore reasons to get out and support the team, unless of course I broke news that we are getting a new on-campus baseball stadium but that's a topic for another day. GSU vs Texas Southern Friday @ 4PM, Saturday and Sunday @ 1PM.
